Values
Mannkind’s values are the principles which govern the decisions taken by the Board of Directors and the actions of its members-at-large. These values guide all of our strategic planning and management of our programs and projects.
As a member-based, volunteer driven organization, we seek to engage in community initiatives which transcend organizational and cultural boundaries. MKCS believes that maximizing community partnership enhances the services for our clients, increases opportunities for the community at large, and enhances cooperation with other public and private agencies.
MKCS is committed to accepting the people that we help, the people that we work with and the path that is before us. Our commitment is exercised through a continuous assessment of corresponding risks while prioritizing the mission of the charity and the safety of its clients, members and staff.
MKCS considers volunteerism a vital part of its cost-effective pursuit of program and project initiatives, both here in Canada and abroad. We will strive to sustain high levels of volunteerism by ensuring that volunteers are rewarded with fulfilling activities and celebrated for their contributions.
MKCS seeks to generate new ways to address social and environmental problems through the open-minded consideration of ideas that reflect the broadest possible perspective, within the scope of our mission, vision and values.
MKCS is committed to a policy of inclusiveness. We will ensure that diversity will be targeted within the charity’s Board of Directors, membership and staff; in its partnerships with community agencies, and among its clients and volunteers.
MKCS is committed to delivering its programs and services as cost-effectively as possible while adhering fully to its values and mission. Any actions that MKCS undertakes to increase operational efficiency will be counterbalanced by oversights ensuring accountability, transparency and regular re-evaluation.
The values of MKCS reflect our commitment to high ethical standards and are the foundation of our procedures and actions.
